The development of SENSISPLUS Glasses

The idea

In recent years and decades, the development of wine glasses has focussed primarily on finding the goblet shape that best showcases a particular wine. Considerable success has been achieved, so that wine connoisseurs now have a variety of different goblet shapes and sizes at their disposal for enjoying fine wines.

However, this approach is increasingly reaching its limits, as an ever-increasing differentiation of glasses beyond the grape varieties (e.g. by growing region or vintage) appears to be technically feasible, but hardly practical for the individual consumer. At EISCH, therefore, the question of how the so-called "optimally" shaped wine glass could be further developed was already being considered at the end of the 1990s..

The glass

The results of this development work are the SENSISPLUS glasses, the pleasure class of Glashütte EISCH. They combine the experience and innovative strength of Glashütte EISCH to create a unique interpretation of the highest level of wine enjoyment and reveal the full flavour potential of wine. The original character of the wine and its structure are retained. EISCH produces the glasses not only for wine, but also for spirits, fruit juices and more.

Ronn Wiegand is a world-renowned wine expert. He lives in the USA (California). He is one of very few people in the world who are authorised to hold both the titles "Master of Wine" AND "Master Sommelier".

Ronn Wiegand was the first wine expert to test the glasses. He summarised the results in a letter. In it he says, among other things, that he was sceptical at first and that he then tasted around 30 wines in the glasses. He was impressed by the SENSISPLUS glasses and congratulates the glassworks EISCH a truly successful contribution to the enjoyment of wine.

Robert Parker is the world's best-known "wine pope". His judgements of wines (he awards the so-called "Parker points") are therefore highly regarded worldwide.
